I Built Counterbalance for the Space Between Accounting and Strategy

CFO-level leadership, controller-level depth and hands-on finance transformation.

I've Sat on Both Sides of the Numbers

My perspective isn't limited to the finance function. I've also run a multimillion-dollar production studio, with responsibility for the day-to-day realities of operating a business-people, customers, capacity, costs, and financial performance.

That experience influences how I advise clients today. I know that what appears to be a financial problem is often rooted in operations. Margin pressure can come from pricing, labor, utilization, purchasing, or execution. Cash-flow problems can begin with how work is sold, delivered, billed, and collected.

I bring that operator perspective together with deep financial leadership experience to help businesses build stronger accounting infrastructure, understand what's really driving performance, and make better forward-looking decisions.

CFO discipline. Controller depth. Operator perspective.

I have spent more than 20 years stepping into businesses where the numbers, processes and operational realities were no longer aligned.

Sometimes the close was unreliable. Sometimes cash was tightening. Sometimes growth had outpaced the finance team. And sometimes leadership had financial statements-but still lacked the information needed to make the next decision.

My work bridges that gap.

Areas of expertise

  • CFO-level financial leadership
  • Controller-level technical depth
  • Hands-on approach to implementation
  • Determining whether numbers can be trusted
  • Building the processes required to improve results

Finance + Operations + Technology

I bring CFO-level financial leadership, controller-level technical depth and a hands-on approach to implementation. I do not simply explain what the numbers say. I determine whether they can be trusted, identify what is driving the result and help build the processes required to improve it.

One of the biggest lessons from my career is that financial performance rarely improves through accounting alone. The strongest outcomes happen when finance, operations, people, processes, and technology work together.

That perspective shapes how I approach every engagement. I don't simply identify what is wrong. I look at how the business operates, where processes are breaking down, what information leadership is missing, and what needs to change to create a stronger organization.

Increasingly, that also means helping companies rethink finance through AI and automation. I believe the next generation of finance organizations will spend less time manually producing numbers and more time validating, interpreting, and acting on them.

My goal is not automation for the sake of automation. It is to build smarter financial operations-reducing manual work, strengthening controls, accelerating the close, improving accuracy, and giving leaders better information faster.

Beyond the Numbers

As much as I love business, strategy, and solving complex problems, there's much more to my life than spreadsheets and financial statements.

I'm a wife and proud mom of three wonderful sons, and our family also includes two doodles and a turtle-so life is rarely boring.

Outside of work, I love discovering new wines and restaurants, traveling and experiencing new places, and making fitness and wellness a meaningful part of my life. I'm also happiest when I have the opportunity to slow down and enjoy some of my quieter interests: reading, baking, and crocheting.

Above all, I consider myself a lifelong learner. I'm naturally curious and genuinely enjoy learning something new-whether it's a new technology, a better way to run a business, a new approach to wellness, a great book, or something completely outside my comfort zone.

For me, success isn't just about building great businesses. It's about doing meaningful work, continuing to grow, and creating a life you genuinely enjoy along the way.
